Michigan
Trucking Association, in conjunction with the
American Trucking
Associations, has scheduled the week of September 19-26, 2010 as National
Truck Driver Appreciation Week. During NTDAW, American takes the time to
honor truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in tackling of the
economy’s most demanding and important jobs.
There are over 3.5 million professional truck drivers nationwide—delivering
the goods U.S. consumers need every day of the year. These drivers log over
432 billion miles per year delivering the “Good Stuff.” Professional truck
drivers are more essential to the national economy than ever before and
they’re delivering their loads safely and professionally.
The American Trucking Associations is the largest national trade association for the
trucking industry. Through a federation of other trucking groups,
industry-related conferences and its 50 affiliated state trucking
associations, ATA represents more than 37,000 members covering every type of
motor carrier in the United States.
Michigan Trucking Association, as a statewide full-service trade
association, has promoted the interests of Michigan motors carriers since
1934. The mission of MTA is to serve the interests of the trucking industry;
enhance the industry's image, efficiency, productivity and competitiveness;
promote highway safety; provide educational programs; and work for a healthy
business environment.
