Driver Safety Courses at
the Michigan Center for Decision Driving (MCDD)
Studies show that even the best of
drivers have a tendency to overestimate their driving
abilities. This could have serious, even deadly,
consequences in a dangerous situation that requires
highly developed decision-making skills and quick
reactions.
To reduce crashes and improve highway safety, it is
essential that commercial drivers fully understand
proper stopping and skid-control techniques that are
unique to the type of vehicle they operate.
At the Michigan Center for Decision Driving (MCDD),
professional truck drivers learn decision driving
techniques both in the classroom and in actual hands-on
activities using the facility's skid course.
MCDD is an all-day course held at:
Eaton Corporation
Proving Grounds 19218 B Drive S.
Marshall, MI 49068
The course is
offered Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
The fee for Michigan drivers is $50.
The fee for
out-of-state drivers is $200.
The Marshall Proving Grounds are now a
"fence-to-fence" tobacco-free location; no smoking or
chewing is allowed anywhere on the Eaton property.
Thank you to Con-Way Freight for
their tractor donation to the Michigan Center for
